Chest Pain Accreditation

Chest Pain Accreditation

Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has received recognition by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as the area’s first accredited Chest Pain Center. The goal of the Society of Chest Pain Centers is to significantly reduce the mortality rate of these patients through public education, reducing the time to receive treatment, and increasing the accuracy and effectiveness of treatment.

Along with the point of care testing, we strive to have a 12 lead EKG done and read on all patients presenting with possible cardiac symptoms within 10 minutes of arrival. We have set the standard of 90 minutes from door to balloon according to the ACC guidelines for STEMI care and continue to monitor core measures.

Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center provides ongoing innovation in cardiac care, including cardiac research, new less invasive approaches to care and surgical care programs such as endoscopic vein harvesting, minimally invasive or beating heart surgery and early extubation in the operating room.
