Required Preparation

Each procedure will have individual preparation-please look under that specific heading (for example, Ultrasound, CT, etc)  for details. You will come to the department and pick up prep material and instructions at least one day prior to the exam date, if indicated. If directions to the department are needed, feel free to stop at the information desk located in the visitors lobby.

If you were given an order (Rx) by your physician, please bring it at the time of the appointment.  It would be helpful to have a list of medications you are taking along with the allergies you might have. Please fill out "Information Needed Prior to Test" form on the Imaging home page and bring with you.  It is recommended that patients keep valuables such as money or jewelry, at home and wear comfortable clothing the day of your exam. Also, some exams such as biopsies may require sedation, so a separate driver may be needed to transport you after the procedure.
