Volunteer to Visit Patients


For Clergies and Laities

For those who have had prior theological credentialing and training, you will visit with patients and offer support, comfort and loving care within the context of the patient's own religious beliefs. Pastoral Care volunteers should have poise, tact discretion and sensitivity in meeting and talking with patients and their families. A minimum of four hours a week in hospital visitation, as assigned by staff chaplains, is required. For more information and to download an application, click here. Volunteer in the Chaplain's Office


Clerical

These volunteers do not need to have theological credentials, just a desire to serve the community from within the Pastoral Care department. If you are interested, visit our Auxiliary site.

Community Church Representative


Community Church Representatives receive a hospital ID badge and confidentiality training to visit people of their own faith in the hospital. As a Community Church Representative, you must complete an orientation program at the hospital and training at your own place of worship, if necessary. Spiritual Ambassador


Employees Only

The goal of a Spiritual Ambassador is to redefine the focus of the "job" to "My job is the Mission." A Spiritual Ambassador will be sensitive to the spiritual needs of the department staff, while working in conjunction with Pastoral Care to provide needed services. If you have a willingness to provide comfort and support through scripture and prayer to your fellow team members, fill out the application to become a Spiritual Ambassador and bring it to the Pastoral Care department at FHMMC.
