FHMMC Team Members Go Big, Go Red

2/5/2010

February 5, 2010 (Daytona Beach, FL) -- Team members from the Memorial Cardiovascular Institute at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach came out to show their support and spirit for “Go Red Day” on Feb. 5 by creating a giant heart.

The event kicked off Florida Hospital Memorial’s Heart Smart lectures for American Heart Month. The seminars, held each Friday in February, are presented by the Memorial Cardiovascular Institute at Florida Hospital Memorial and will feature cardiologists and a dietician to educate on heart healthy lifestyles.

The “Go Red Day” campaign serves to create more awareness for heart disease, the #1 killer of American women, claiming more than 500,000 lives each year. American Heart Month has been celebrated since the 1960s as a way to raise awareness about heart disease.
