Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Employees Decorate & Donate Christmas Wreaths

Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center employees decorated Christmas wreaths which were donated to Operation Caring Through Sharing, a local nonprofit organization that provides nutritional assistance to families in need.

This was the second year that the hospital’s Inclusivity Committee encouraged employees to come together and decorate wreaths in an effort to highlight the diversity of each department through highlighting the organization’s Christian mission of hope, health and healing, their unique creativity and Sacred Work. The wreaths were on display on the first floor of the hospital for most of the month of December.

Operation Caring Through Sharing volunteers Nakita George and Gina Devanand picked up 43 elaborately decorated wreaths on December 20 to distribute them to needy families along with a Christmas food basket.

“Our hope was that we could share these beautifully decorated wreaths with some of our local families who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to enjoy any holiday decorations in their homes,” said Chaplain Farzad Nourian, who worked with the Operation Caring Through Sharing group to arrange the donation.

Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center is part of the Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler nonprofit hospital system with a mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. In 2010, Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler collectively contributed more than $107 million in benefits to the underprivileged, the community’s overall health and wellness and spiritual needs, and capital improvements.
