Daytona Beach, FL (August 7, 2009) –
Rene Santin, MD, has joined the staff at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center as the latest addition to a growing BirthCare Center. Board certified in pediatrics and neonatology, Dr. Santin brings a diverse background and nearly 15 years experience in pediatric and neonatal care.
His focus will be on the care, development and diseases of newborn babies. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Santin comes to Florida Hospital from a level II nursery in Eastern Kentucky.
Dr. Santin completed his fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. His residency was fulfilled at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso, Texas, and he completed a pediatric internship at the National Institute of Pediatrics in Mexico. Dr. Santin received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico.
Dr. Santin has led research focused on respiratory issues with newborn babies, including ventilation methods and the neurodevelopment of infants with apnea. He also spent time as a pediatric advanced life support instructor and neonatal resuscitation program instructor.
Dr. Santin, joins the neonatology program at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center to provide 24/7 neonatology care to newborns at the hospital further enhance the advanced services offered in the BirthCare Center.
