With more than 15 years experience, Christopher S. Kent, MD, has joined the Center for Neurohealth Sciences at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, located at 305 Memorial Medical Parkway, Suite 206, Daytona Beach. He is accepting new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Kent specializes in spinal decompression and fusion; intradural and extradu
ral spinal canal tumors; Chiari malformation surgery; evaluation and treatment of normal pressure hydrocephalus (water on the brain); surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia “tic”; shunting for hydrocephalus; craniotomy for tumor or hemorrhage; and carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve surgery.
Board certified in Neurological Surgery, Dr. Kent completed his residency at the Department of Neurosurgery SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY and attended the University of Rochester, where he earned his medical degree.
Dr. Kent is a member of the American Board of Neurological Surgery, American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Additionally, he serves as a Diplomat for the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Other accomplishments include serving as staff neurosurgeon for the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and as an invited lecturer to the American Association of Neurological Surgery oral board review course. Dr. Kent has also published various works on spinal cord diseases and other neuroscience topics.
