FHMMC Cardiologist Becomes Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburg

Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Cardiologist, Humayun A. Jamidar, MD, FRCPE, FACC, has been accepted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburg (RCPE).

The RCPE is a leading body for physicians in the UK and internationally with around 12,000 Fellows and members from more than 90 countries and covering 56 medical specialties.  Achieving Fellowship of the RCPE confirms peer recognition of a physician’s training and clinical standing. It is a highly-respected international standard of clinical excellence.

“It is an honor to be part of a global network of respected clinicians sharing their expertise and experience,” said Dr. Jamidar.

Dr. Jamidar has been practicing in the community for more than 20 years. He earned his medical degree from Queens University of Belfast in the United Kingdom and completed a Cardiology Fellowship at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.  Subsequently, he completed an Interventional (Angioplasty) and Pacemaker Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma.

The RCPE is a professional membership organization that develops and oversees an ongoing program of medical examinations, as well as education and training for qualified doctors elect to undertake postgraduate education and training in order to pursue a career in specialist medicine. In addition to providing educational and professional support for doctors, the RCPE is actively involved in representing the views of doctors in discussions with others, including government, and promoting the public health.
