Auxiliary
The volunteers of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center and Florida Hospital Oceanside come from all walks of life. They are former professionals, school teachers, secretaries, homemakers, business executives and accountants. In its history, the auxiliary has provided over two million hours of volunteer support and raised more than $3.5 million to benefit the hospital and community in which we live.

The Auxiliary’s Purpose
Auxilians share the common goal of providing caring aid and comfort to patients and families as well as assistance to staff that care for patients. The stated purpose of the Auxiliary is three-fold:
- to provide compassionate service to patients, hospital staff and the community
- to serve as goodwill ambassadors for the hospital
- to fulfill fundraising pledges to the hospital for equipmehases, education, services and building projects
The current multi-year pledge is for $1 million to be donated toward the new Williamson Blvd. campus construction.
Opportunities for Volunteers
The Auxiliary offers a wide selection of volunteer opportunities. This variety allows volunteers to apply talents, skills and interests in compatible service areas. Here’s a sampling of how your neighbors are serving our community hospital:
Awards and Recognition
Auxilians are invited to three free social activities held in their honor every year.
This is a relaxing, pleasant opportunity to visit with other volunteers and be recognized for your volunteer contributions to the hospital. Recognition service pins are given to those who attain award levels of donated time.
TeenAge Volunteer Program
Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center offers a year-round teen age volunteer program. Teens must be between 14 and 18 years old and complete a required training program. They volunteer in a variety of areas such as the Emergency Department, Medical Records, the Information Desk, the Bird Cage Gift Shop and the Pinkadilly Resale Shop.
